Many times I talk with friends here at HomeStudioProject, but also with other musicians and we have the same concerns. How can I find time to do my music when there is so much to do during the day and generally during the week?
It's a general concern, which may not sound like mixing or recording, but productivity is a very important part of being able to be more creative and efficient in the free time we have at our disposal.
In today's post I will suggest some ways that will help you be more efficient. I will show you how you can properly plan your week to do more work in your home studio.
We all have during the week many obligations, work, family, personal or professional activities and in all this we try to find time to finish the song we have been working on for so long.
The first thing we need to do is make a schedule for the week we are going through or that is about to start. It is very important to plan our week before it starts.
Every Sunday afternoon, it would be good to write down what you have to do during the week. I know what you will think. "Since I know everything I have to do, why should I write them?" I will tell you why. First of all, when you write everything you have to do, then you have a better picture of your obligations and your wants.
So once you are done with your weekly to-do list, the best thing to do is plan ahead. How do you do that? Use an analog or digital calendar. Personally, I use a digital calendar and more specifically the Google calendar.
